Who is Behati Prinsloo? That’s likely what you Googled after watching her take the Victoria’s Secret runway by storm in October 2025, appearing unrecognisable from how people remembered her. Or, quite possibly, you want to know more about the woman who’s been married to Maroon 5’s Adam Levine for over a decade.
Either way, let me tell you something. She’s way more interesting than a “pop star’s wife”.
Born in Grootfontein, Namibia, on May 16, 1988, Behati has one of those life stories that you hear and can’t quite believe is true. A country girl from Africa becomes one of the world’s top models. Quite the unconventional career path, no?
Her mum, Magda Prinsloo, manages a bed and breakfast. Dad’s a church minister. They raised her speaking Afrikaans, and she didn’t become fluent in English until quite later in life. That’s right. The woman who’d later work for Chanel and Versace wasn’t a native English speaker to begin with.
The Discovery That Changed Everything
Behati was sixteen, grocery shopping with her grandparents in Cape Town, when a man walked up and asked if she was a model, then wrote his number on a piece of paper. Her grandfather found it dodgy as hell. Fair enough, really.
But you see, the next time she visited Cape Town, she was approached by Noelle Doukas. Her mom, Sarah, is a head honcho at Storm Model Management, the agency that discovered Kate Moss. That’s when things got real.
In 2006, Behati discontinued her schooling after the 9th grade and moved to London. Immediately walked for Prada and Miu Miu. Not bad for a newcomer to the runway.

The Victoria’s Secret Years
Here’s where it gets interesting. She did her first Victoria’s Secret show in 2007. Twenty years old, little more than clueless. But she must have been doing something right because in 2009, they made her an Angel.
She had opened the show in both 2014 and 2015. That’s massive. “Like, you don’t just get to open unless you are pretty much at the top of your game.

But October 2025? That was something else. People went absolutely spare on social media. “I didn’t know who she was,” someone wrote. “Who is Behati Prinsloo? Because that’s not her,” another person wrote.
Look, the woman’s 37. She’s had three kids. She’s got a darker tan than usual. Maybe she appears somewhat changed. The internet’s obsession with analysing every change in a woman’s appearance is, to be honest, tiring.
Backstage before the performance, she talked about her husband, Adam Levine and their children watching from home. Discussed how the girls, Dusty Rose (9) and Gio Grace (7), as well as their 2-year-old son, would be thrilled by all those wings and glamour. Proper normal mum stuff.
The Adam Levine Situation
Adam Levine and Behati Prinsloo met in 2012. They first connected through a friend and started exchanging emails before even going on a proper date. A bit unusual, that.
They split up briefly. Behati told PORTER Edit that she broke it off at the time, revealing “the worst decision”, and they got back together, got engaged, and got married. All happened pretty quickly.
The wedding was in Mexico, July 2014. Jonah Hill officiated. Because why not?
Now here’s the tricky part. In September 2022, Behati was pregnant with their third child when this Insta model called Sumner Stroh posted a TikTok alleging she had an affair with Adam. He’d reportedly requested that they name the baby after her if it were a boy. Properly messy.
Adam posted an apology on Instagram. He said he “crossed the line” but didn’t have an affair. Admitted to inappropriate messages. Not great, is it?
But are Adam Levine and Behati Prinsloo still married? Yeah, they are. They had the baby in January 2023. They are still together as of January 2026. In December 2024, she had posted pictures of them, embracing and smiling. They celebrated their 11th anniversary in July 2025 with heartfelt Instagram posts.
I get tired of people asking if they have broken up. They haven’t. Is that the right decision? I don’t know. That’s their business.
What She’s Actually Worth
Behati Prinsloo’s net worth varies depending on who you ask. A few sources have cited £11 million (around $14 million). Others put it closer to £23 million ($30 million).
Either way, she’s done pretty well for herself. Walked for pretty much every A-list designer. Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Versace, Calvin Klein, Christian Dior. The list goes on.

She’s designed collections, too. Had a swimsuit line for Victoria’s Secret, “Behati Loves Pink,” in 2010. In 2014, she designed a denim line for THVM. Fashion and accessories for Juicy Couture, most recently.
Oh, and she started a tequila company with Adam in 2021; it’s called Calirosa. Red wine barrel-aged tequila from California. Sounds fancy.
The Height Thing
People ask about Behati Prinsloo’s height constantly. She’s 5 feet 10 and a half inches. That’s about 179 centimetres if you’re measuring properly.
Not as tall as some models, but tall enough. The outfits and heels make her look taller on the runway. Camera angles help too.
Beyond the Runway
One thing many people don’t realise is that she’s actually really passionate about charity work. She worked with LakayPam, a charity focused on children in developing countries, after the earthquake that struck Haiti in 2010. Received letters of encouragement from everywhere, raised money, and visited orphanages.
They produced a short film about it titled “Letters to Haiti,” which was released in 2011. She really had a passion for making an impact.
She’s also a Save the Rhino Trust patron, helping to save the black rhino. Makes sense. She’s from Namibia, where these animals are labelled as critically endangered. It’s personal for her.
The 2025 Comeback
Behati rocked the Victoria’s Secret show in October 2024, her first run since stepping back to focus on kids. She had walked in 2018, after her second daughter was born, and then took another hiatus.
October 2025 marked her return. She’d signed with a new agency called The Lions just days before, alongside other top models like Natasha Poly.
During the show, she wore custom lingerie and those massive angel wings and walked with confidence. Behind the scenes, she mentioned listening to Adam’s new album “Love Is Like” on repeat, especially the track “All Night.”
The Maroon 5 video for “All Night” actually features Behati as the lead singer instead of Adam. He told TODAY he thought she was better looking than him, so why not let her front the video for once? She practised the lyrics around the house, even in the shower, according to Adam.
Family Life Now
They split their time between Los Angeles and elsewhere and manage to maintain a relatively discreet life, given how famous they are. Adam has been travelling with Maroon 5 on tour in Asia, and Behati shared rare photos of the family’s time in Tokyo with all three kids in November 2024.

She chooses not to publicly post the name of their son. There are more of the girls shown, but still, she’s cautious. Smart move, really. They’re just children trying to live normal lives.
Adam told interviewers his daughter, Dus, ty is a “Maroon 5 historian” who knows every song. Both girls are obsessed with the band. He’s trying to get them to branch out musically, but is having no luck.
What Makes Her Different
The thing is, Behati has managed to make a name for herself outside of simply being the wife of a famous musician. Yeah, she’s Mrs Levine.
But she’s also walked twelve Victoria’s Secret shows. Worked for virtually every major fashion house. Built businesses. Raised three children. Done charity work that actually matters.
She is fluent in English and Afrikaans. Still visits Namibia. Remains close friends with models such as Candice Swanepoel and Lily Aldridge. Came out to support Taylor Swift’s 1989 World Tour.

The October 2025 Victoria’s Secret appearance caused a stir because she looked different, people said. Maybe she does. Maybe she doesn’t. But she’s still working at 37 after having three kids and dealing with very public marriage drama.
That takes guts, doesn’t it?

Bottom Line
So who is Behati Prinsloo? She is a Namibian model who worked her way to the top of her industry through talent and hard work. A mother of three. A wife who has decided to remain in her marriage despite a public scandal. A businesswoman. A philanthropist.
And most importantly, she’s still a work in progress when it comes to juggling fame, family, and your sense of self. Really, just like everyone else. Only with better cheekbones.
